MI Top-Order IPL 2026
The Mumbai Indians will continue to play with their successful opening duo from last season of Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton.
Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is a powerful batter at the top of the batting line-up. Rohit likes to maximize the powerplay overs with his power-hitting but is also capable of playing longer innings.
Ryan Rickelton is also a similar type of profile like Rohit. The South African batter takes some time with his initial couple of deliveries, but once he is settled, he is a very dangerous batter to bowl against. He is very good with his bat movement and equally good against pace and spin.
Mumbai Indians tried different names at number three in the IPL 2025 season, but India’s T20I Suryakumar Yadav is actually the best suited to play at number. He has in-fact the best performances for the franchise at number 3. Surya is a flexible batter who can hit 360° and is a must at 3 in the Mumbai Indians (MI) confirmed XI for Indian Premier League 2026.
MI Middle-Order IPL 2026
Tilak Varma will play a key role for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2026 season. With the explosiveness at the top-order, MI will need an anchor in their middle-order who can rebuild the innings in-case of early collapse. Tilak is a very dependable middle-order batter, is very strong against pace and spin, relies on timing more than power.
Mumbai Indians have had a lot of expectations from Will Jacks last season, but his performance wasn’t up to the level. Hence they have brought in Sherfane Rutherford, who was one of the best performers for Gujarat Titans last season in the middle-order. He is also a power-hitter but it is his timing game that is great.
The lower-order explosion will continue for Mumbai Indians with captain Hardik Pandya batting at number 6. The less we talk about Hardik the better. He is a brute hitter with class all over it. Other than that, he will also bowl 2-4 overs regularly if needed.
New Zealand’s veteran left-arm spin bowler Mitchell Santner delivered some good performance last season and he will be playing a key role this season. Santner bowls at tight line and length, is a handy batter and quality fielder. He is likely to play a more significant role this season in the Mumbai Indians (MI) confirmed XI for Indian Premier League 2026.
MI Bowlers IPL 2026
Mumbai Indians seriously improved their bowling quality. With Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult already at the team, they have also traded in Shardul Thakur from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
Shardul Thakur is a medium pace bowler who is known for his ability to bowl effective line and length. His change of pace is also very good, adding much strength to MI bowling attack in the Mumbai Indians (MI) confirmed XI for Indian Premier League 2026 season.
Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult meanwhile will be playing more significant roles with the ball for Mumbai Indians. Trent Boult will be MI’s biggest weapon with the new ball in the powerplay. Meanwhile, Bumrah in the death overs with his yorkers can bamboozle opposition batters.
To add to their spin bowling strength, they have brought back their former player Mayank Markande in a trade deal from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to add to Mumbai Indians (MI) confirmed XI for Indian Premier League 2026. Last year, they had Vignesh Puthur, but he is young and has been released by the franchise.
MI Impact Player IPL 2026
Mumbai Indians have lots of options for their Impact Player role. For batting, MI can sub in Naman Dhir, who is a brilliant hitter. As for bowling, Mumbai could add strength to their bowling attack by subbing in Ashwani Kumar. He made an instant impact on his IPM debut last season, taking 5 wickets vs KKR.
