WWE SmackDown Result and Match Review, 5th December 2025

On December 5, WWE Friday Night SmackDown came to you live from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas. The show had the finals of The Last Time is Now tournament, with the winner getting a shot at John Cena in his last match.

Drew McIntyre kicked off the show by walking into the arena, but GM Nick Aldis told him he was still suspended and had to leave. While he was leaving, Cody Rhodes jumped him until officials broke it up. Then, Rhodes went to the ring, vented his anger about McIntyre, and asked Aldis to end McIntyre’s suspension before heading backstage.

WWE SmackDown Results: 5.12.2025

Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Carmelo Hayes – US Championship Match

The battle began with the champion in command, as Hayes delivered a powerful kick before knocking Dragunov to the ground. Back in the ring, the champion countered with a German Suplex before Hayes avoided Constantine Special. Dragunov countered the Codebreaker, and Hayes elevated his legs for the H Bomb before receiving a powerful DDT. Ciampa appeared out of nowhere and interrupted Hayes before the champion landed the Torpedo Moscow and H Bomb for the victory.

Result: Ilja Dragunov defeated Carmelo Hayes to regain the United States Championship.

Kairi‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Sane vs. Alexa Bliss

It was a fight between Kairi Sane and Alexa Bliss, and each one of them had their partners Asuka and Charlotte Flair, respectively, supporting them in the singles match.

Once they were inside the ring, both women fought a thrilling match. After Flair had taken out Asuka, Bliss blocked Sane’s Insane Elbow and delivered a Sister Abigail DDT to clinch the victory. But at that moment, Jax and Lash, who were the holders of the Women’s tag team titles, came and attacked both sides.

Result: Bliss defeats Kairi Sane

Jade Cargill vs. Alba Fyre

Alba Fyre was battling against the WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill with Chelsea Green on her side. In the middle of the match, Giulia and Kiana James confronted Green. Fyre was so distracted that it led Cargill to take her down and finishing her off with a Jaded to get the ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌pin.

Result: Jade Cargill defeats Alba Fyre

Gunther vs. LA Knight

Gunther avoided an early BFT and then got beat up by Knight. The Megastar took a boot and a clothesline but came back with a neckbreaker, almost winning. Gunther went for a sleeper hold, but Knight got away and hit a big dive.

Knight landed a neckbreaker, but Gunther grabbed him in a sleeper hold. Knight broke free and hit the Attitude Adjustment and Burning Hammer, nearly winning again. Knight then hit a back suplex, almost pinning Gunther, but Gunther came back with a dropkick.

Gunther ate an elbow drop, and then Knight missed a powerbomb and got splashed. Gunther survived a BFT and then locked in another sleeper hold, turning it into a Cravat, but Knight still kicked out!
