Speaking to a crowd of thousands of fans at the event, Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of KRAFTON India said: “The 2026 Roadmap is more than a tournament calendar – it’s a structured pathway for Indian gamers to rise from grassroots to the global podium. We have designed it with an intent to further the ecosystem: one that identifies emerging talent at the regional level, nurtures them through national competition, and gives them a chance to represent India internationally.”
During the BGMI International Cup, Krafton also introduced the Krafton India Awards. These awards are going to be an annual celebration of Indian gaming stars. The first event is happening in Mumbai on January 9, 2026. This is really big for the Indian esports scene, which has gotten way bigger since the days of small local events.
