Bangladesh

Bangladesh faced a rollercoaster ride in the ACC Men’s Asia Cup T20 2025. While players shone in strong ways, others could not rise to the occasion when their side needed them. The Tigers displayed signs of promise yet got caught up in a web of inconsistency, missed opportunities, and bad execution at vital moments. Here is each player’s report card.

Player Rating :Hits and Misses:

Parvez Hossain Emon – Poor

Emon had a tournament that he wouldn’t want to remember, making just 40 runs in four innings. He struggled to provide an anchor for his team and looked far from his best at the crease and his batting was displayed with no intent and his dismissals were a soft touch. Instead, he didn’t help his cause, by giving away easy runs with multiple mistakes in the field. As an opener, his contributions were basically zero.

Mohammad Saifuddin – Poor

Saifuddin only had the chance to play in one game, but frankly he didn’t use that opportunity either. His bowling was ineffective and was utterly useless batting-wise as well. He never looked like he was in rhythm in both respects. In a side that is searching for all-round balance, he can not claim a spot.

Shoriful Islam – Unsatisfactory

Shoriful had a poor tournament, going wicketless, and conceding 75 runs, at a high economy rate. He was unable to get the lengths right, and it led to too many runs being scored. Bangladesh needed early breakthroughs in the game but Shoriful was unable to provide them. His bowling did not have the spark and aggression that we are accustom to seeing him perform.

Jaker Ali Anik – Poor

Jaker was unable to establish himself in the role of the finisher. Other than one decent innings, he was unable to make an impact with bat. Besides this, he dropped a catch of Abhishek, which was a costly moment in the match. In the context of tournament where finishers turn out to be important, he was unable to do anything special.

Tanzid Hasan Tamim – Poor Performance

Tamim had one excellent innings for a must-win match and displayed that he could deliver under pressure. However, the rest of his tournament was disappointing. He struggled for runs and consistency. His poor form at the top of the order made for a fragile Bangladesh batting line-up.

Nurul Hasan Sohan – Poor Performance

Sohan offered a decent performance against Afghanistan, giving the team some optimism. However, when it came to most, he had a poor knock in their final game of the tournament. He then dropped a key catch that hurt Bangladesh’s chances again. All his inconsistency hurt his value to the team.

Shamim Hossain – Average Performance

Shamim showed grit and commitment, scoring three competitive knocks in the middle-order. However, for all his effort, none of those knocks propelled Bangladesh to a winning performance. He didn’t show the final push for a bigger impact. Solid performance but nothing game changing.

Tawhid Hridoy – Average

Hridoy was the second-highest run-scorer for Bangladesh. Most of his knocks were rather run-of-the-mill, with just one innings being memorable for all the right reasons while the remaining felt like little more than accumulating runs without any real damage to the opposition. Hridoy made runs – he just did not cause the type of damage the team needed.

Mahedi Hasan – Average

Mahedi did useful work with the ball with six wickets in four matches at good economy rates. His bowling was steady and provided a little bit of variety in the middle overs. His batting, however, was poor when he had chances during this tournament. He contributed to poor fielding that further impacted his overall contributions.

Nasum Ahmed – Average

Nasum had one brilliant, match-winning spell against Afghanistan – which was undoubtedly his best moment. He went wicketless in the other two games, which really could have cost Bangladesh valuable breakthroughs.  There was a mixture of performances and his inconsistency with the ball meant a poor overall performance from him and his team.

Taskin Ahmed – Average

Taskin was the second-highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh. He bowled with aggression and pace but he leaked way too many runs. This was a blow to the team’s net run rate. While it was good to win wickets, his lack of control hurt him by lowering his performance.

Litton Das – Good

Litton provided stability for Bangladesh in the batting order, notably in important matches against Hong Kong, China and Sri Lanka, as well as solid composure as a wickeekeeper and captain. Leadership can be steady without being memorable and highlighted a respectable batting performance. Overall, he’s likely one of the better performers.

Rishad Hossain – Good

Rishad proved valuable in the middle overs in support of the bowling attack with important breakthroughs. His variations were a source of trouble for the batters and respected an overall decent economy. He brought balance to the spin department and was another reliable bowler in the campaign.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib – Good

Sakib deserves mention as the most economical fast bowler of the tournament (minimum 10 overs bowled). He bowled with control and discipline throughout every spell he bowled throughout the tournament. To restrict runs without overstepping gave Bangladesh a significant advantage. A highlight among the fast bowlers.

Mustafizur Rahman – Excellent

Mustafizur gave Bangladesh the best bowling performance finishing as their highest wicket-taker show casing vintage death bowling in pinpoint accuracy and choking the opponent in the last overs to follow. Mustafizur showed age and experience in a competitive field and organization with lots of calmness under pressure. Mustafizur was Bangladesh’s best performer.

Saif Hassan – Exceptional

Saif was a discovery for Bangladesh, finishing as their highest run-scorer and second in the tournament overall. He had three superb knocks in four innings, anchoring the batting line-up. His catching in the field was also of the highest caliber. Without a doubt, Bangladesh’s batting star of the tournament.
