A young Virat Kohli scored his first ODI century at the JSCA International Cricket Stadium in Ranchi on 16 November, 2014 vs Sri Lanka.
It was the 5th ODI match of the Sri Lanka tour of India 2014 where India had won all the previous four matches. The visitors scored 286 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 50 overs.
Team India had the uphill task of chasing 287 runs target as India lost 2 wickets for 15 runs only. From there, Virat Kohli controlled the inning. He formed great partnership with Ambati Rayudu and eventually won the match for Team India.
