Smash Rule Day in CEGC

The Chennai Esports Global Championship (CEGC) gets backing from Tamil Nadu’s government via SDAT, also known as the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, showing strong local support. This government-supported tournament highlights the region’s push to grow a lively, lasting esports scene, not just hype.

Day 3 of the CEGC 2025 BGMI Grand Finals is happening on November 16. The top 16 teams will finish up the tournament with their final six matches. They’re using the Smash Rule format for the final day.

The CEGC 2025 BGMI Grand Finals are being held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. The best 16 teams in India are competing for a huge prize pool of ₹50 lakh. The winning team gets ₹21.5 lakh, and the second-place team will receive ₹11 lakh.

At‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ a glance, Team Soul is the most successful team of the championship with 129 points and three Chicken Dinners. In second position, True Rippers are 38 points short of the lead with 91 points. Welt and NONX are the teams that share the third and fourth positions with 87 points each, respectively.

Revenant XSpark, led by BGMI star Punk, is in fifth place with 84 points. God’s Reign holds the seventh position with 81 points. Team Versatile has been decent in the last two days, and the Saumraj-led squad is in 10th position with only 69 points. Well-known clubs K9 Esports and Team Tamilas have been in trouble in 12 games and thus are in the bottom two ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌positions.

What is the Smash Rule in CEGC?

Here’s how the tournament winner will be determined: if a team hits the target match point and then wins a chicken dinner, they will win the entire tournament. If no team manages to do so, then the team with the most points overall at the end of day 3 wins the tournament.

For Day 3, the Target Match Point is 139 (top team’s points after 12 matches, plus 10 points). There will be up to six matches played on the last day.
