The Delhi Capitals Women’s (DC Women) team have been by far the best team in WPL history, yet they are without a trophy. They will be looking to change things in the upcoming auction. In this article, we take a look at the DC Women Released Players List WPL 2026 Mega Auction.
The Delhi Capitals Women’s team has been the most consistent and perfect team in the WPL history since its inception in the year 2023.
The Capitals have been a part of the WPL final in all three of the seasons, but would you believe it that they are still without a trophy. The Delhi Capitals Women’s lost the inaugural WPL final and the most recent WPL 2025 Final against the Mumbai Indians (MI) Women and the 2024 final vs RCB Women.
In the WPL 2025 season, they finished at the top of the points table with 10 points from 5 wins and 3 losses in the 8 match league phase. In the final match, they met their old foes from the 2023 final, the MI Women’s.
And just like in 2023, they came out 2nd best. They lost the final match by just 8 runs. Chasing a target of 150 runs, the DC Women’s scored 141 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.
Star Indian batter Shafali Verma was the team’s top scorer with 304 runs at a strike rate of 152.76. Australian veteran batter Meg Lanning contributed with 276 runs. Jess Jonassen, Jemimah Rodriguez and Marizanne Kapp also scored over 100 runs.
With the ball, Jess Jonassen and Shikha Pandey took wickets in double figures. Annabel Sutherland and Kapp also picked 9 and 8 wickets respectively, showcasing it was a great team effort until the Final match where they fell short.
So what’s that the Delhi Capitals Women’s lacking in the final is what the management will be looking to fix in the Auction to be held in November. In this article, we try predicting the DC Women Released Players List WPL 2026 Mega Auction.

DC Women Released Players List WPL 2026
Annabel Sutherland
The Delhi Capitals Women’s team spent a whopping 2 crore to get the services of the Australian women’s team all-rounder in 2024. However, her performance hasn’t been quite pleasing until the 2025 season, where she did step-up a bit. She scored 95 runs in 7 innings and took 9 wickets in 9 matches. While she is still 24 and has a big future ahead, she is likely to be in the DC Women released players list as they could explore getting her back for cheaper.
Shikha Pandey
The Indian pace bowler Shikha Pandey has definitely been the Delhi Capitals Women team’s top bowler in the WPL, taking a total of 30 wickets in 3 seasons. She had her best season in 2025 taking 11 wickets. However, the concern is that she is 36 and getting older. She is also losing pace and DC management might look to revitalize the squad this time. However, in case she is released, the Capitals will definitely try their utmost to bring her back.
Marizanne Kapp
The South African all-rounder Marizanne Kapp has been a consistent performer for the Delhi Capitals Women’s. In 2025, she picked 8 wickets in 8 matches, the lowest return in her three seasons stint. Just like Pandey, she will be 36 before the start of the WPL 2026 campaign. And because of restricted overseas slots, Kapp could be in the released list.
Niki Prasad
There could be a lot of debate about the fifth retention slot for DC Women. We had a debate over Nallapureddy Charani and Niki Prasad and we have chosen the former. Charani is a talented spin bowler who has had a very successful start to her India career. Meanwhile, Niki Prasad is also a talented youngster but keeping hold of Charani might be important for DC in the long run. They might still bring Prasad back from the auction.
