The upcoming T20 World Cup 2026 schedule has been officially released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on November 25. The opening match of the tournament will be played between Pakistan and Netherlands while Team India will also play their opening game on day 1.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be the 10th edition of cricket’s shortest format flavour. The tournament will be co-host by India and Sri Lanka commencing from 7 February till 8 March, 2025.

Format
The T20 World Cup 2026 will continue to follow the same format as the 2024 edition. 20 qualified teams will be divided into four groups of 5 teams each. Each team will play the other teams once in a round robin format.
The top two from all groups will then qualify into the T20 World Cup 2026 Super Eight stage. The 8 qualified teams would then be divided into two groups of 4 teams each. Matches will once again be played on round-robin format and the top two teams from both groups will then qualify for the semi-finals followed by the final match.

T20 World Cup 2026 Key Dates
The T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka will begin on February 7. According to report by Telecomasia, the Super Eight stage will begin on 22 February in Ahmedabad.
Meanwhile one semi-final is scheduled to be played in India in Mumbai on March 5 while the other semi-final will be played in Kolkata or Colombo depending on Pakistan’s qualification. The final match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, or Colombo if Pakistan qualifies, on March 8.
