Pandya Brothers (Hardik Pandya & Krunal Pandya) | India

Krunal and Hardik Pandya are one of the most well-known cricketing siblings in India at present. Krunal, the older of the two brothers, had made his international debut in a T20I vs West Indies on November 4, 2018, and Hardik has been playing all formats for India since January 2016. Today Hardik is known as one of the best all-rounders in world cricket. The two brothers first met for India in a T20I against New Zealand on 6 February 2019. The Pandya brothers are known for their aggressive hitting and useful bowling capabilities, the all-rounders had first played for hometown Baroda before representing Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

Hardik Pandya has been one of those players for India who was seen shining under pressure more often than not. He also led India in 16 T20 matches, and won 10 of them. Krunal, on the other hand, was handed a debut exactly two years after he played his first IPL match for Mumbai Indians. In 2021, setting massive records by becoming the fastest Indian cricketer to score a Half-century in ODI debut (50 runs) after he scored a 26-ball 50 against England. And they continue to compile a body of work with an all-round game and entertaining style.

Irfan Pathan & Yusuf Pathan (India)

Yusuf and Irfan Pathan are among India’s most celebrated cricketing siblings. Both were integral parts of India’s T20 World Cup triumph in 2007. The older of the two, Yusuf, is a blaster who is known for big sixes. The younger Irfan’s brisk slingers and useful lower order batting endeared him to fans.

Irfan debuted for his country in 2003 and claimed 310 wickets, notably taking a rare hat-trick in the first over of a Test against Pakistan. Yusuf won 2007 and 2011 titles for India, in the final of the T20 World Cup in 2007 he made his debut. They were partners in memorable partnerships and have made an indelible impression on Indian cricket. 

Morkel Brothers (Albie Morkel & Morne Morkel) | South Africa

The brothers from South Africa, Albie and Morne Morkel have served their nation with pride in international cricket. Eldest brother Albie was primarily a batting all-rounder and heavy hitter, along with providing some useful seam bowling. He was also an integral part of Chennai Super Kings’ derby wins in 2010 and 2011. Morne, on the contrary, chose to be a tall right-arm fast bowler and was able to hit lines with pace and bounce that troubled some of the finest batsmen world over.

Cricket is in their blood after all their father, Albert Morkel was also an extremely handy cricketer who played domestic first class cricket. The brothers went on to become one of South Africa’s most successful duos and were even named South African Cricketers of the Year together in 2008; it had been 56 years since two siblings shared that honor. Today, Morne is associated with cricket as the bowling coach of the Indian cricket team from 2024. Collectively and individually, the Morkels will be forever remembered for their all-round abilities and winning performances at any level. 

Rahul Chahar and Deepak Chahar (India)

The Chahar brothers, Deepak and Rahul, are budding new talents in Indian cricket. Deepak, the elder of the two is a right-arm medium-pace bowler and can be handy with bat down the order. He played his first international match in 2018 and has claimed more than 50 T20I wickets. He also plays with Chennai Super Kings in the IPL and has been a part of winning squads.

Younger brother Rahul Chahar, is a right-arm leg-spin bowler who made his international debut in 2019. From there, he played his first IPL match aged just 17 and soon became an important spinner for his team. Deepak has India’s best bowling figures in T20I cricket. He scalped 6 for 7 against Bangladesh in 2019. Bar allowed, the Chahar brothers are still contributing significantly to India across T20 and ODIs. 

Hussey Brothers (Michael Hussey & David Hussey) | Australia

The Hussey brothers, Michael and David, were both significant contributors to Australia between 2008 and 2013. Both of them represented Australia in the 2011 ICC World Cup. The older brother, Michael made his debut in 2004 vs India and soon emerged as one of the most dependable batsmen Australia had. Playing internationally, he scored more than 12,000 runs with an average of 51.4 in Test cricket and smashed 22 centuries, earning the sobriquet “Mr. Cricket” for his steadiness and prowess at the game.

The younger Hussey, David, was largely a limited-overs player and T20 specialist. He batted and bowled right-handed, as an occasional right-arm off-break bowler. Unlike Michael, he didn’t represent in the longer format but made his presence known in ODIs and T20Is. The Hussey brothers had a reputation for solid batting, astute cricket ability and influence in Australian cricket. 

Marsh Brothers (Shaun Marsh & Mitchell Marsh) | Australia

The Marsh brothers, Shaun and Mitchell have both been involved with the Australian senior team in international cricket. Their father, Geoff Marsh, played 50 Tests and 117 ODIs for Australia. Shaun, the other brother, is a reliable left-handed opener. He topped the run charts in the first-ever IPL season, 2008, to win the Orange Cap and has stacked up 13 centuries across his 124 games.

Younger brother Mitchell Marsh is also an all-rounder and has played for Australia in various formats. He has accumulated more than 3,000 international runs and captured 117 wickets in 174 games. A duo featured in 2017–18 Ashes series when they became the third pair to score test centuries within the same innings for Australia. In 2023 Mitchell scored an undefeated 177 against Bangladesh, the third-highest individual score by an Australian in an ODI World Cup.

Bravo Brothers (Dwayne Bravo & Darren Bravo) | West Indies

The Bravos include two West Indian cricket stars. They are half brothers, having the same father but different mothers. The elder sibling, Dwayne Bravo, is a gifted all-rounder who can be very attacking with the bat and bowl. He is one of the best T20 players in world cricket, has won titles as a player and now as an administrator, he can play a big role in motivating a team that will be playing to defend their title.

Down the line comes younger brother Darren Bravo, a much cleaner left-handed hitter who has primarily featured for West Indies in ODIs and Tests. He hasn’t been playing a lot of T20s but he is fundamental for the team in Test and ODI. Collectively, the Bravos have served West Indies cricket meticulously with their craft and talent.  

Curran Brothers (Sam Curran & Tom Curran) | England 

Personal life The Pietersens are an English cricketing family. Sam and Tom both became internationals at a tender age and for being modern all-rounders. The older of the two, Sam Curran began as a bowling all-rounder but turned into one who could also score runs quickly. He played in England’s T20 World Cup-winning side in 2022.

The younger brother, Tom Curran, debuted for England a month before his 22nd birthday and has been described as a bowler who bats at No .Their brother Ben Curran , not only plays international cricket  he does so for Zimbabwe. As a pair, the Currans are potent and commercialable in English cricket and the game around the world. 

McCullum Brothers (Nathan McCullum & Brendon McCullum) New Zealand

The McCullum brothers were central figures in New Zealand cricket and enjoyed a fruitful partnership between 2009-2016 when they played together. An off-spinner batsman by trade, Nathan made his debut in 2009 and was a useful lower order batsman. He was in the New Zealand side that made the 2015 World Cup final and could contribute with bat or ball when required.

The younger sibling, Brendon McCullum, would make his international debut in 2002 and later emerge as one of New Zealand’s leading cricketers. A wicketkeeper-batsman and aggressive opening batsman, he amassed more than 15,000 international runs in 432 matches. Hailed for his fearless style of play, Brendon remains the record holder for the fastest Test century, achieved off just 54 balls in 2016. As a pair, the McCullum bros are one of the most unforgettable in New Zealand cricket ever. 

Waugh Brothers (Steve Waugh & Mark Waugh) | Australia 

The Waughs, Steve and Mark, need no introduction in Australian cricket. They are identical twins and they became the first set of twins to play international cricket together. Steve Waugh Tugga Steve Waugh, nicknamed “Tugga”, is considered one of the greatest captains in cricket. He captained Australia to 16 straight Test victories, steered them to the 1999 World Cup title and scored 18,500 international runs for his country with 35 centuries in a 19-year career.

Mark Waugh, or “Junior” as he was affectionately called, was a stylish batsman who opened as a classy and reliable top-order batsman. He made 16,529 international runs with 38 centuries and was particularly adept in ODIs where he was regarded as being superior to his brother. They dominated world cricket together in the 1990s and early 2000s, one of the most successful brother acts in the history of the competition.
