WWE NXT Match Card and Preview

Last week’s WWE NXT Showdown featured some of NXT’s finest against some of TNA’s best. Years ago, we never imagined that TNA wrestlers would face off against WWE opponents, yet here we are.

The matchups were excellent, as predicted. Overall, TNA and NXT matched for the most match victories on the night, meaning neither brand won. So, where are we going from here? How does this affect this week’s NXT?

Tonight’s WWE NXT is coming to you live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Expect some follow-up from last week’s Showdown between NXT and TNA. Remember how Trick Williams walked out on the NXT guys during that Survivor Series-type match? Well, he also lost the TNA World Heavyweight Title to Mike Santana at Bound for Glory. Now he has to explain himself to NXT Champ Ricky Saints.

Following the final pinfall grab in the Survivor Series-style match last Tuesday, NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne is going to face Halloween Havoc as her next opponent when a Battle Royal of the best superstars from the WWE brand and NXT unfolds this week.

WWE NXT Match Card and Preview

  • Singles Match: El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. Lexis King
  • Singles Match: Josh Briggs vs. Matt Cardona
  • Women’s Number One Contender Battle Royal
  • Singles Match: Blake Monroe vs. Zaria

While sensations remain high between NXT and TNA, Josh Briggs has unresolved problems with Matt Cardona. On the September 30 episode of NXT, Matt Cardona got involved in Briggs’ fight against Myles Borne.

Cardona’s involvement cost Briggs not only the match but also the opportunity to join Team NXT at NXT Showdown. During the NXT Showdown, both guys barged into General Manager Ava’s office and demanded a match against each other.
