SmackDown began with the regular review of last week and arrivals at the arena before moving to the ring for a promo from The American Nightmare.
Rhodes attempted to provoke McIntyre into a fight, but before he could enter the ring, Jimmy appeared and assaulted him for accusing him of attacking Fatu. As the commotion settled, Solo Sikoa and the MFTs entered the ring for the opening match.
This was identical to Drew and Cody’s interaction last week in many ways. Adding Jimmy to the mix helped, but not significantly. They did a terrific job getting the audience excited for the play.

The MFT vs Shinsuke Nakamura & Rey Fenix
Nakamura was in charge early on, making some huge moves before Fenix tagged in and Tama Tonga put him down with a cheap shot from the apron. Tama tagged in and delivered a powerful clothesline before he and Mateo confined Fenix in the corner.
Rey had a near-fall off a moonsault until Nakamura knocked Mateo out at ringside. Solo created a diversion, and Talla Tonga landed a chokeslam on Rey on the apron before Tama delivered the Cutthroat running elbow for the victory.
Result: The MFT defeated Shinsuke Nakamura and Rey Fenix.
Kiana James vs Tiffany Stratton
The champ stayed in charge with some arm drags as Giulia cheered James on from the side. James tried a moonsault from the apron but missed. Giulia caused a distraction that helped James drive Stratton into the barricade.
James was doing well before the break, but Tiffy started to get some momentum when we came back. She won with a swanton and then her Prettiest Moonsault Ever.
Result: Stratton defeated James
Ilja Dragunov (c) vs Aleister Black – United States Championship match
Dragunov attempted the Konstatin Special early on but missed before Black threw him outside the ring and into the barriers. Black landed several massive blows before the champ returned with the boots in the corner, followed by German suplexes.
Black returned with kicks to the head before reversing a massive smash. Dragunov attempted to land the powerbomb before Black responded with the H Bomb. The champion responded with a top rope senton before Black countered the Torpedo Moscow with a knee to the face.
Aleister nearly fell from the brainbuster before Dragunov struck Torpedo Moscow. Black’s wife, Zelina Vega, stepped in and interrupted the H Bomb attempt before the referee sent her backstage. Damian Priest appeared with a burn mark on his face, distracting Black before the champion struck Torpedo Moscow for the victory.
Out of action for over a year.

Drew McIntyre vs Jimmy Uso
Jimmy and Drew ran into each other fast, and the brawl kicked off right there in the aisle. But once they got to the ring, Drew, the Scottish Warrior, gained control. Before long, they were fighting outside the ring and into the crowd.
When we came back from the break, McIntyre was setting the tone, but Uso knocked him out of the ring with a head kick. A fan tried to give Jimmy a hand by jumping over the barricade, but he ended up getting a belly-to-belly suplex for his trouble.
This was a tough match with some cool moments. Both Uso and McIntyre have been doing this for years, so it made sense that they’d put on a good performance.
When it seemed like McIntyre was about to win, he tossed a chair at Uso’s face and then nailed him with the Claymore for the pin.
Result: McIntyre won against Uso.
