MS Dhoni is the backbone of Chennai Super Kings, the player who turns every city yellow whenever CSK plays there. The biggest question among fans right now is whether MS Dhoni will play in IPL 2026.
MS Dhoni to Play IPL 2026
In a chat with Provoke Lifestyle magazine, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed that MS Dhoni will be back for IPL 2026. He also mentioned that Dhoni has no plans to retire anytime soon.
MS Dhoni played all the matches in the last IPL 2025 season, but as a batter and captain, he couldn’t make much of an impact.
After Ruturaj Gaikwad got injured, CSK didn’t have any other strong option for captaincy, so Dhoni stepped up once again to lead the team.
MS Dhoni has won five IPL titles with Chennai Super Kings in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021 and 2023. He’ll now be looking to add one more and make it six in IPL 2026.
MS Dhoni Injury Update
Since retiring from international cricket in 2020, MS Dhoni has been dealing with knee and back problems.
He had surgery on his left knee after IPL 2023, but continued to play, often seen wearing a knee brace.
MS Dhoni needs to be careful with his health so that he is ready to play in the IPL 2026.
